A Magical Night: Forward Thinking Communities Hosts the First Annual Reading PA Children's Christmas Ball

The city of Reading, PA, witnessed a heartwarming celebration unlike any other this past holiday season. Forward Thinking Communities, along with our incredible partners and generous donors, came together to create an unforgettable experience: the first annual Reading PA Children's Christmas Ball. This event was more than just a party; it was a testament to the power of community, generosity, and the spirit of giving.

Long before the event even began, the outpouring of support from the community was overwhelming. A special thank you goes out to Ruthie for graciously allowing us to use the dance hall at Washington Towers free of charge. Her kindness provided us with the perfect space to host this grand event, ensuring that hundreds of families could join in the festivities.

Among the many heartwarming stories from this event, one that truly stands out is the generosity of Diane, a dedicated worker at the Wawa in Wyomissing. Every morning, as I stopped by for my coffee, Diane would greet me with a warm smile and ask about our nonprofit’s initiatives. When she heard about our plans for the Children's Christmas Ball, she surprised me by reaching under the register and pulling out a huge bag of toys, donating them on the spot. Her spontaneous act of kindness embodies the true meaning of the holiday season and reminds us all that generosity can come from the most unexpected places.

We also extend our gratitude to Wawa for their ongoing hospitality and support. Stories like Diane’s highlight the impact that one person can have in making a difference. It’s these small but powerful acts of kindness that keep our mission alive and thriving.
